Michael Simm

Don’t underestimate Michael’s robust flavours, he specialises in hearty British cuisine using rustic local produce combining it with his unorthodox ‘freestyling’ technique he creates his own unique twist.

 He learnt his trade from his mother, the great Mrs Simm who’s ‘lobby and dumplings’ is considered a Potteries delicacy. This upbringing combined with a summers work under the tutorage of legendary ‘Mr Kipling’ Michael’s dishes are tough to beat.

Jane Fenlon

The comic relief 2008 company cake baking champion specialises in sweet, luxurious desserts. Jane who can turn her hand to any cuisine regularly outshines the competition with her perfectionist approach to baking.

Her husband Viv is the most stringent in quality control and nothing but the best surpasses his delectable palette. Every team has its star players and Jane’s simnel cake is undoubtedly one of these and like her hero Delia, Jane will work her fingers to the bone in search of perfection.

 

Rob Fleet

Hunger is the single driving force behind Robs work.  In the land of the hungry the one-pied man is King.  Rob ‘Two-Lunches’ Fleet has a number of influences but the majority of his dishes are dripping with the taste of the Mediterranean.  Whether Italian Pizza, Moorish Tajins or Ibizan Alcopops – Rob bestrides the Med like the Colossus of Foods.

Rob learned his trade spending days glued to the UK Food channel watching Nigella.  He is always happy to pass on his wisdom and skills and has mentored his second cousin, James Martin through his rise from lowly chef to TV Celebrity Chef.

 

Anne Lowe

Anne is on a one-woman crusade against blandness – in the land of the bland the one-spiced dish is king!  Full of eastern promise Anne’s fusion food is a flavour bomb exploding spices and tastes in all directions.  Watch out!!

Out of necessity Anne is completely self-taught in the kitchen and with her open mind is always learning new and innovative culinary techniques. Although a lone maverick, she still looks to her Aunt who’s cakes set the standard for years to come, for guidance and mentorship.

 

 

 Mustaq Patel

Mustaq, our Asian expert is known for supplying biscuits and samosas to the team ‘made by his own hand’. He is however unable to provide any credible evidence of his culinary knowledge which leads us to suspect that the hands actually belong to the legendary, long suffering, Mrs P (Bilkish) who is acknowledged to  have provided the most delicious biriani ever tasted.  Mustaq says that his culinary mentor is his Aunt Madina whose biriani is much better than his wife’s.
